Info Post
I'm very happy to announce that my show at the Modern Eden Gallery is this Saturday, April 30th 2011.  It's been a long time coming, but I'm proud to finally have a proper showing of my work in San Francisco.  The gallery is very young, but has a ton of potential. The space is lovely and the owners are friendly.  Can't thank 'em enough for the opportunity.
For the show, I created a few new pieces.

"Rose Noir" 6x6 in. Oil on Canvas.

"Chromatella" 6x12 in. oil on linen.

"Rugosa Alba" 14x14 in. oil on linen.

"Gemini Molineux" 12x30 in. oil on linen.

I feel like the paintings have progressed noticeably since I started.  The newest ones are painted more crisp and vibrant.  I think I have exhausted the possibility of this run of the series.
The Modern Eden Gallery wrote up a nice entry on their blog as well:

Painted Roses: Opening Reception: April 30th 7-10

Modern Eden is pleased to announce "Painted Roses", an exhibition featuring a new series of paintings by Sergio Lopez. The opening reception for "Painted Roses" will be held at Modern Eden on Saturday, April 30th from 7-10pm. The exhibition will be on display through June 4, 2011 and is free and open to the public.

“Painted Roses” presents the work of Bay Area artist, Sergio Lopez. Sergio artfully merges the figure in and out of the background playing with patterns of the femininity and delicacy of roses, with the dark, urban hint of floral tattoos and piercings all loosely played around the soft delicate translucence of the female figure. "Painted Roses" demonstrates how our real and perfect beauty is usually not visible or exposed; it is often covered by external facade dictated by the culture we live in, some of which is not easily removed or separated from one's true self.

Sergio's strongest influences include The Golden Age illustrators, Bravura painters, contemporary artists, concept designers, graffiti writers, and photographers. Sergio has been featured in Juxtapoz, artistaday.com, and has won multiple awards for his painting throughout California and beyond.

The April 30th Opening Reception will feature Live Music by DJ Edward Aten. In conjunction with "Painted Roses", Modern Eden will host a group show exhibition introducing artists Lance HewisonKristin Kyono, and Albert Ramos.

In addition, a collection of Modern Eden's favorite artists are collaborating on a "Wall of Roses", creating small rose themed works tiled onto one wall. Participating artists include Christine Benjamin, Sarah Vanphravong, Kurtis RykovichDaniel J.
